Boelo Schuur is Professor at the University of Twente, working on separation technology with a focus on affinity separations such as extractive distillation, liquid-liquid extraction and adsorption.
The two main research lines include
- Develop new Separation Processes to enable new green processes
a) to make new high value products from wastewater
b) to valorize biomass in biorefineries
c) to replace existing separation processes with more benign ones
2. Develop new Separation Technology for breakthrough separation routes
a) stimuli responsive separations
b) hybrid separations
The team on Separations counts on average one or two post-docs, 5-6 PhD-students, a varying number of MSc-students and is embedded in the Sustainable Process Technology group at the cluster Process and Catalysis Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
